Day 4 - Friends

I've always been a very social person, and enjoy being surrounded by friends. I've been lucky to develop some strong and enduring friendships from school, jobs, and even from online forums. I am so thankful for these wonderful people, the ones who have my back when I need support, and who are there (even if it's only virtually) to celebrate my successes with  me. It's a true blessing to be able to say, "My computer is broken," and have a friend that I haven't seen in a year say, "I can fix it." That's real friendship, and I am so wonderfully lucky to have so many good friends in my life.

I'm getting a sense of "reverse deja vu" deja? LOL

Your thankful posts look like they're taken from my cheat sheet of things I want to post about later in the month.

I just don't want you to think I'm copy-catting you. If you read something that looks familiar on my blog, trust me, I wrote it down first. ;)

Sometime between 16-18 years ago, I...a very new and ignorant person in relation to this thing called the interwebz...slithered into this chatroom (name omitted) purely by accident. Met quite a few characters. As time flew by, I developed a bond with them. Found out that one was holed up only a few miles away. We met for lunch at a public restaurant, just in case he turned out to be an axe murderer, and we hit it off. We're friends to this very day. Some years had gone by, and I became smitten with a gal in there and she insisted on meeting me in person. Without my knowledge, but our mutual friend knew, she flew in and surprised me. My friend had just showed up and told me he was kidnapping me and was taking me to the airport. I had no clue as to what was going on so I went with him. I had seen photos of the gal, but when I saw her for the first time I was amazed. The most beautiful woman I'd ever seen. She walked into the terminal, set her carry-on on the floor, pressed me back against the wall, and gave me the most passionate kiss that I'll never forget as long as I'm above ground. We eventually got married, matter of fact we recently celebrated our 10th anniversary, and I love this woman with all that's me. The others in the chatroom that we were also friends with, surprised and happy at our engagement, showed up at our wedding. We literally had people from all four corners of this little rock we live on show up. It was one big party. All of us continue to be friends to this day and are still there for each other when one needs anything from kind words, or a phone call. We send cards to each other and such. This little interwebz has made the world much smaller, and I'm thankful for that.

Sorry for rambling.
